The Victor Y2Y conference, "Under Pressure," held February 12 and 13 at Victor
High School, was a tremendous success! A total of 317 youth and adults attended,
including 14 middle and high school participants and 3 youth and adult staff from
Skaneateles. Pictures from the conference will be posted soon. Congrats to all
who planned and attended the conference!

As far as we know, the Y2Y group in Newark has decided not to have a conference
this year. This isn't official, but it's probably true. However, the folks
over at Rush-Henrietta are still planning
their conference for April 8 and 9. The registration forms for the Victor
conference have been sent out, so if you haven't received one and you want
to go, get one quick, because the deadline is January 28!
(1-21-00)
Even though we already had our conference, there are still three conferences
to go this year! The Victor conference has been moved from March 4 and 5
to February 12 and 13. Also, the Rush-Henrietta
and Newark Y2Y groups are both planning independent conferences for
April 8 and 9 - great, but it means we'll all have to pick one to go
to, and who wants to make that decision? Still, ain't it great?

The Emerald City Faire was a great success!! Our Lollipop Guild game raised
$60 after expenses, all of which was donated to Make a Wish of Central New
York. The SCS Music Boosters were able to donate over $2,000 total to Make
A Wish, and the Drama Club's production of the Wizard of Oz was a huge
success. Thanks to everyone who made this extraordinary event possible!

SHS Y2Y will be running a booth at the Skaneateles Central Schools Music
Boosters' Emerald City Faire on Saturday, November 6 from 10 AM til noon.
Our booth will be a lollipop tree - pick a lollipop with a colored stick and
get a prize! The fair is being held in conjunction with SHS's production of
The Wizard of Oz, our fall musical, which will run from Thursday,
November 4 through Sunday, November 7, with a senior citizens' performance
Wednesday afternoon. A portion of the proceeds from the Fair will be donated
to the Make A Wish Foundation of Central New York. Come to the Fair and
support two worthy causes - Make A Wish and SHS Y2Y!

The Y2Y folks over in Buffalo are hosting a lock-in February 19, 2000.
It's a way for us to go, but we'll try. (Vaguely associated factoid - February
19 makes the Ken-Ton lock-in the first Y2Y event of the new millennium! COOL!)

Congrats to all who attended the GFT (group facilitator training) on Saturday,
October 2. Nine students and one adult from SHS were trained, along with
4 students from Marcellus. If you're interested in participating in a training
but missed the October 2nd GFT, there will be another training at the Prevention
Partners office in Rochester, NY, on Saturday, November 6th. For more information
on this training, contact us.

It is now officially official (at least at the moment) that our good Y2Y friends
over (up?) at Jordan-Elbridge (Middle? and) High Schools will indeed be holding a
lock-in on December 4, 1999.

SHS Y2Y sent six youth participants, an adult participant, and a youth staff to
the 1999 RAYS (Rochester Area Youth Shine) summer Youth to Youth conference, which
was held on the campus of SUNY Brockport, outside Rochester, July 30 through August
1. Despite high temperatures and inclement weather, the conference was a great
success.
Congrats to all who went!
